In the description above, there is a little humor intended there for no one person can do it all...but on the present budget, it was necessary. All kidding aside, Jose Santacruz is very serious about music. He is passionate about creating music that speaks not just to guitarists or musicians, but to anyone who just wants to listen to music and enjoy the experience. "Music is more than scales and modes to me...they are important because if I do not know my vocabulary, how can I make my point? But after that has been decided, there is so much more to communication than just the vocabulary. There is the tone, the feel, the heart and soul...the love of music that must be communicated to the listener." Jose is also dedicated to spreading his love of not just music, but communicating to the listener his gratefulness to God for the gift of music. "We are given talents and resources to glorify God and spread His love to the world. There are many times when I have heard someone play or seen a piece of art, or watch a movie where I just stop and say to others that that artist had a God given talent...that artist just totally lifted my mind to the Creator, which was the purpose of the talent. Many times, music is perverted and used to make money and to gain fame. Now, I could use a little money to keep making albums and feed my precious family, but if I never make a dime, I can still play guitar and praise God...and having my day job will help pay the bills, so either way, He takes care of me as I work for Him. I have a long way to go in my quest, but I am so looking forward to it!"
